Rumors have emerged that King the Land co-stars Yoona and Junho are secretly dating, and have been an item even before they signed up to the rom-com series.
The news was broken in a report by Korean media outlet The Proof, which claimed that the two were already in a relationship long.
They received the offer to star in the series after this. The Proof stated they agreed to work on the project together for this reason.
The report pointed out that the two former K-pop idols had debuted in the music industry together as part of the groups GIRLS’ GENERATION and 2PM, and had developed a close relationship.
Both Yoona and Junho were also co-hosts of the MBC award show Gayo Daejejeon for two years, beginning in 2021.
Fans’ longing to see them in a romantic drama eventually led to their casting in King the Land.
Their undeniable onscreen chemistry has propelled the Netflix-broadcasted series to new heights. The recently aired Episode 5 became its most watched episode, reaching 9.7% in terms of viewership.
