K-pop star Taeil, a member of the popular boy group NCT, is recovering from a motorcycle accident that fractured his right thigh. The accident occurred on Aug 15, 2023, after Taeil finished a schedule and was riding his motorcycle home. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and surgery, and is currently resting and recovering.
Taeil’s agency, SM Entertainment, released a statement about the accident, saying: “Taeil was quickly transported to a medical facility, where he underwent thorough examination and immediate treatment. As a result of the accident, Taeil sustained a fracture in his right thigh and will require surgery. He is currently resting and recovering in the hospital.”
Taeil’s injury means that he will miss NCT’s upcoming concert, NCT Nation: To The World, which is scheduled for Aug 26, 2023. SM Entertainment said that Taeil will be taking a break from all NCT activities to focus on his recovery.
NCT fans have been showing their love and concern for Taeil on social media, especially X (formerly Twitter). They also left messages on his Instagram, asking him to rest easy, and saying that they hoped to see him again soon.
Taeil made his debut with NCT in 2016, and is also a member of its sub-units NCT 127 and NCT U. In addition to his work with NCT, Taeil also released his first solo single, Long Flight, in 2019.
We would like to wish Taeil a speedy recovery, and hope to see him back on stage soon.
