Fans of TXT member Soobin were left heartbroken yesterday over news that his pet hedgehog Odi had died last month. They even referred to the beloved pet as the “6th member of TXT”.
Soobin revealed Odi’s passing during a Weverse live broadcast. He said that Odi had passed while he was touring with TXT in Japan. He also revealed that Odi had been ill for some time. The illness had left the hedgehog paralyzed and unable to move.
He added that he hoped that Odi was no longer suffering, and that he would remember him for a long time. He spoke about how grateful he was to have met Odi, even if it was for a short time. Soobin also asked fans to keep Odi’s cute and lovely self in their memories.
Soobin had adopted Odi when he was still a TXT trainee, and took care of him in the group’s dorm rooms. In previous interviews, he said that after a long day of rehearsals, his greatest joy was being able to return and play with Odi before going to bed.
There was even an account on X (formerly Twitter) dedicated to Odi because of how much TXT fans loved him. The account shared photos of Soobin playing with Odi, as well as any mentions of him during Soobin’s Weverse broadcasts. A message directed at Odi was posted to the account soon after the news broke.
TXT fans also took to social media to share their memories of Odi. They thanked him for bringing so much joy to Soobin and to them over the years.
