SHINee fans are celebrating “the month of Key” after he announced his upcoming comeback mini-album Good & Great. The mini-album is set to drop on Sept 11, 2023 at 6PM KST. This will be Key’s first solo release following the success of SHINee’s HARD album.

The news was welcomed by SHINee fans, who are thrilled over the second-gen group’s return to the music scene. The group has been hard at work promoting their album, minus member Onew who is focusing on his health.

The announcement included a concept poster for Good & Great. The poster shows an ID badge for Key, naming him as an “intern” along with the ID name “Masterkey”. The badge’s date of issue matches the mini-album’s release date.

Key’s successful solo career

This will be the latest project for SHINee member Key in his successful solo career. He made his solo debut in 2018 with the album Face, which peaked at number five on Korea’s Gaon Album Chart. The much-anticipated album featured singles One of Those Nights (센 척 안 해) and Forever Yours. He also released his first mini-album Hologram later that year, featuring five tracks exclusively for the Japanese market.

In 2021, he released his first Korean mini-album Bad Love, which was his first project following his military discharge. The mini-album produced the singles Hate That.. and Bad Love. Key dropped his second studio album Gasoline in August 2022. The album was re-released as Killer earlier this year, along with three new songs.

In addition to his music career, Key is also an actor, television personality, and fashion designer. He has starred in several musicals and television dramas. He also ventured into fashion, collaborating with several designers and models. Since 2015, he has also been designing SHINee’s concert outfits.

Following his second solo mini-album release, he will join SHINee for the group’s arena tour of Japan from Sept 30 to Nov 29. The concert event will be called the SHINee WORLD VI [PERFECT ILLUMINATION] tour.
