Kim Taehyung’s Love Me Again takes first win on M Countdown

Kim Taehyung, popularly known as BTS’ V, has given fans a reason to celebrate with his first win for the single Love Me Again on Mnet’s M Countdown. The victory occurred during the show’s broadcast on Aug 24, 2023. This serves as a precursor to his eagerly awaited solo album, Layover, slated for release on Sep 8, 2023.

The latest season of M Countdown showcased an array of stellar performances. The contenders vying for the first spot were BTS’ V with Love Me Again and STAYC with their hit Bubble. Ultimately, Kim Taehyung emerged victorious, amassing a total of 7,864 points. This win holds special significance as it marks his inaugural victory for the track, which debuted on Aug 10.

The Aug 24 episode of M Countdown featured an eclectic lineup of performances, including STAYC’s Bubble, JEON SOMI’s Fast Forward, and ITZY’s rendition of Cake. Other acts included Aespa’s Better Things, U-KNOW’s dual-track showcase of Spotlight and Vuja De.

In addition to these standout performances, THE BOYZ, captivated the audience with their hit Passion Fruit. Not to be outdone, Everglow also took the stage, delivering a powerful rendition of their song Slay.

As for Taehyung, the coming weeks promise to be action-packed, given his impending album promotion. Rumours are swirling that he will soon reunite with fellow BTS member Suga on the latter’s talk show, Suchwita. Interestingly, V is the only member of BTS who has yet to make an appearance on the show. The most recent BTS member to grace the show was Jungkook, who promoted his new single Seven.

In anticipation of the Layover album release, Kim Taehyung has already unveiled two singles, Love Me Again and Rainy Days. The full album will feature a total of six tracks, with additional song titles like Blue, Slow Dancing, and For Us previously disclosed by BigHit Entertainment.
