NEWJEANS may not be able to perform in Vietnam
Meanwhile, Allkpop reported that the group may not be given permission to perform in Vietnam. NEWJEANS member Hanni has been the subject of public criticism in Vietnam since February 2023, owing to her family’s alleged political ties to South Vietnam. Reports suggest that the ruling Vietnamese Communist Party is suppressing NEWJEANS-related content. Although there’s no formal prohibition, the societal climate discourages open endorsement of the group in Vietnam. An industry insider has indicated that the likelihood of NEWJEANS receiving government approval for a performance in Vietnam appears slim.
