Boy group TXT have revealed their next project, a new album titled The Name Chapter: Freefall, which will drop Oct 13, 2023 at 1PM KST. A tantalizing preview of the album was unveiled on social media, featuring the group’s iconic logo in blue and white. The album is currently open for pre-orders, with further details said to be announced soon, including the tracklist.
This will be the group’s sixth EP, and is believed to be a continuation of their The Name Chapter series. TXT’s The Name Chapter: Temptation EP was released in January 2023, and debuted at number one on Korean music charts. TXT also released their second Japanese album Sweet in July.
Busy year for TXT
Fans have been looking forward to hearing new music from the group, who are on a career high after a series of recent achievements. They made huge forays into the international music scene. The Name Chapter: Temptation becoming their first album to debut at number one on the US Billboard 200 charts. In July, they released Do It Like That, a successful collaboration with The Jonas Brothers.
Earlier this month, TXT made history as the first K-pop act to headline the Lollapalooza music festival. Their performance in Chicago saw the group belt out their biggest hits in front of a sold-out crowd.
Members Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai were also named brand ambassadors for Dior. This new partnership further raises their global profile, and cements their status as fashion icons.
What’s next for TXT
TXT is up for two awards at the 2023 MTV VMAs taking place on Sept 12. The group is nominated in the “Best K-pop” category alongside AESPA, BLACKPINK, FIFTY FIFTY, SEVENTEEN and STRAY KIDS. They are also up for the “Push Performance of the Year” award for their song Sugar Rush Ride.
The group will also be releasing their second photobook, Season of TXT: YOUTH, on Oct 11.
