BLACKPINK’s Jisoo wins Female Solo Singer of the Year for ME

BLACKPINK singer Jisoo was named Female Solo Singer of the Year at the 2023 Brand of the Year Awards for her debut singles album ME. The singles album, which was released in March 2023, contained the tracks Flower and All Eyes on Me. This marks the first major solo win for Jisoo at the prestigious Korean brand award ceremony.

Blinks immediately took to social media to congratulate Jisoo over the daesang win. Several of them pointed how Jisoo was in good company, considering the previous award winners. Singer IU won the same award in 2021, while GIRLS’ GENERATION’s Taeyeon won it last year.

This latest success for Jisoo is also another feather in the cap for ME. The singles album debuted at the top of Korea’s Circle Album Chart upon release. It was also the fastest album to reach one million in sales.

This latest win comes days after Jisoo stole the show at the Lady Dior exhibition in Seoul. The singer wore a curated Dior ensemble featuring pieces from the Autumn-Winter 2023 collection and a classic Dior bag. Jisoo was named the fashion house’s global ambassador in 2021.

What’s next for Jisoo

The year 2023 has been a particularly busy one for Jisoo. She is currently preparing to conclude the BORN PINK world tour with her group BLACKPINK. The tour, which began last year, will wrap up with a finale concert on Sept 17 in Seoul.

Jisoo and other members of BLACKPINK are also up for a total of 6 awards at the upcoming MTV VMAs on Sept 12. The group has been nominated for Group of the Year and Show of the Summer. The music video for their song Pink Venom is also up for Best K-pop, Best Editing, Best Choreography and Best Art Direction.

Congratulations to Jisoo for winning the Best Female Solo Singer of the Year award! We look forward to seeing what other awards lie ahead for her!
