The first stills for the highly-anticipated K-drama A Good Day To Be A Dog have been released, showing Cha Eun-Woo as male lead Jin Seo-Won. The K-drama, which is based on a popular webtoon, premieres this October on both MBC and Netflix.
Cha Eun-Woo plays Jin Seo-Won, a high school math teacher who exudes both a warm demeanor and cool-headed charisma. However, behind this facade lies a poignant backstory. Seo-Won has a fear of dogs after a traumatic incident during childhood. His life takes a turn after an encounter with colleague Han Hae-Na (park Gyu-Young), who turns into a dog when kissed.
The production team has expressed their anticipation for the new series. They released a statement which read: “Cha Eun-Woo will compellingly depict Jin Seo-Won’s unique transformation and narrative.” They asked viewers to “anticipate the chemistry” between Cha Eun-Woo and co-stars Park Gyu-Young and Lee Hyun-Woo (as Lee Bo-Gyeom).
The new stills come a day after Cha Eun-Woo won for Male Actor of The Year at 2023 Brand of The Year awards.

High expectations for the new K-drama
The new stills come days after MBC released footage from the first table reading for the K-drama. Other cast members at the script reading were Yoon Hyun-Soo, Ryu Abel, Cho Jin-Se, Yoo Seung-Mok, Lee Seo-El and Song Young-Ah. The footage also saw the main cast introduce their characters.
Cha Eun-Woo said the cast members had “great chemistry”, while Park Gyu-Young asked fans for plenty of “interest and love”. Lee Hyun-Woo said the K-drama would be more enjoyable if fans noticed its similarities to the webtoon.
The series is produced by Group 8, known for diverse productions such as Taxi Driver, Gangnam Beauty, and Boys Over Flowers. Interest in A Good Day To Be A Dog is high. Fans have been looking forward to seeing Park Gyu-Young, star of the Netflix drama Celebrity, and ASTRO member Cha Eun-Woo together onscreen. Photos taken last year when the K-drama filmed scenes in Seoul went viral across the internet.
