Jimin is making waves in the music industry, both in the U.S. and internationally, with his groundbreaking achievements. On September 6, his hit single Like Crazy, from his debut solo album FACE, reached a staggering 500 million streams on Spotify. This feat not only makes Like Crazy the fastest Korean song to achieve this milestone. It is also the quickest solo track by a Korean or K-pop artist to do so.
The song reached half a billion streams in a mere 166 days. It breaks the previous record of 178 days set by the BTS and Coldplay collaboration My Universe. It also surpassed BLACKPINK Lisa’s Money, which took 309 days to reach the same milestone.
On Pandora, another popular streaming platform, Jimin has reached a new peak of 864,000 monthly listeners. He further extended this record to 872,000 monthly listeners as of September 6. This makes Jimin the Korean/K-pop solo artist with the highest peak of monthly listeners in the platform’s history.
Still going strong
Like Crazy continues to dominate Spotify’s Global Daily Top Songs chart, holding its position in the Top 50 for an impressive 155 days and counting. Jimin also remains the longest-charting Korean/K-pop soloist on Spotify’s Global Daily Top Artists chart with 176 days and still counting.
In addition to these remarkable achievements, Like Crazy has also been a constant presence on the Spotify USA Daily Top Songs chart for 100 days, making it the only Korean solo song to ever achieve this feat.
But that’s not all. Jimin’s album FACE has been on the Billboard World Albums chart for an astounding 23 weeks and counting. Like Crazy is also the second-longest charting solo song by a K-pop artist on the Billboard Global 200 chart but holds the record for the longest-charting solo song by a Korean artist on the same chart.
With records being shattered left and right, Jimin’s influence in the music world shows no signs of slowing down.
