Here’s a brief overview of the most buzzworthy K-pop news for September 10, 2023:
Rosé x Taylor Swift collaboration rumours
Korean media has officially dispelled the buzz that BLACKPINK’s Rosé might be collaborating musically with pop icon Taylor Swift. This clarification comes after both artists were spotted leaving New York City’s Electric Lady Studio within minutes of each other. The sighting also included a star-studded lineup of other artists like Hayley Williams, Sabrina Carpenter, and Cara Delevingne, among others.
In the wake of this sighting, Korean social media was ablaze with speculation that a Rosé and Taylor Swift collaboration could be on the horizon. However, Newsen, a reputable Korean media outlet, put those rumours to rest on September 11. They reported that Rosé was actually at the studio to attend a party hosted by Taylor Swift. A music industry insider close to both artists also confirmed, “They were merely party attendees and have no plans to collaborate musically.”
In other BLACKPINK news, the group is in full preparation mode for their BORN PINK world tour finale concerts in Seoul. The group has scheduled these highly-anticipated shows for September 16 and 17 at the Gocheok Sky Dome, marking their first domestic concerts in nearly a year. The tour initially kicked off with a Seoul concert last October.

In related news, YG Entertainment’s boy group TREASURE is set to release Japanese versions of their previous singles BONA BONA and MOVE. TREASURE has scheduled the releases for September 16 and September 25, respectively, both at midnight JST. TREASURE recently concluded their first Japanese fan meeting tour and continues to promote their 2nd full-length album REBOOT.
