Boy group TXT and Brazilian singer Anitta are ready to perform their collaborative track Back For More at the 2023 MTV VMAs in New Jersey. They met up for rehearsals at Prudential Center in New Jersey, sharing photos and videos on their social media accounts. The 2023 MTV VMAs begins on Sept 13, 2023 at 9AM KST (Sept 12, 8PM ET).
Fans of both artists have been looking forward to the upcoming collaboration ever since it was announced earlier this month. Last week, Anitta and TXT members Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai dropped a teaser video for Back For More. The video featured an audio snippet of the track and part of the choreography.
In statement to Dispatch earlier today, the group said that their 2023 MTV VMAs performance with Anitta was “a great opportunity to introduce K-pop and TXT to more people.” They said it was “an honor” to perform with the singer.
TXT have also begun trending on social media, as MOAs have mobilized to promote the hashtags #TXTatVMAs and #TOMORROW_X_TOGETHER. The official MTV VMAs social media account also shared Polaroid photos of the group ahead of their performance.
TXT up for 4 awards at MTV VMAs
TXT has 4 award nominations at the 2023 MTV VMAs. The group is up for the Push Performance of the Year and Best K-pop for their song Sugar Rush Ride. Their previous collab with The Jonas Brothers, Do It Like That, is also nominated for the Song of the Summer Award.
TXT is also nominated for Group of the Year, together with BLACKPINK, FIFTY FIFTY, NEWJEANS and SEVENTEEN. Anitta herself is in the running for Best Latin with her hit Funk Rave.
Besides TXT, fellow K-pop group STRAY KIDS will be performing their hit S-Class at the 2023 MTV VMAs. BTS member Jungkook, whose song Seven is up for the Song of the Summer Award, is also expected to attend the ceremony.
This is proving to be a landmark year for TXT, whose full name is TOMORROW X TOGETHER. The group became the first K-pop group to headline this year’s Lollapalooza music festival. They were also appointed brand ambassadors for global luxury brand Dior.
TXT will also release their album The Name Chapter: Freefall on Oct 13. Back For More is a pre-release single from the album, and will have four different versions.
