BLACKPINK has brought their career-defining BORN PINK world tour to a sensational close with a landmark finale at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome. From Sept 16-17, the group became the first female K-pop act to headline at Gocheok Sky Dome.
The atmosphere was electric as BLACKPINK took the stage with Pink Venom, setting the tone for an unforgettable night. Each member took a moment to introduce themselves, with Rosé expressing her joy at performing in Seoul again.
The energy remained high as the group performed fan-favourites like How You Like That, Pretty Savage, and a heartfelt rendition of Kick It. Lisa noted the crowd’s enthusiasm, saying, “The screams seem louder today,” while Jisoo and Jennie encouraged fans to keep up the momentum.
A magical evening
Their performance of WHISTLE stood out and led to solo acts from each member. Jennie wowed the audience with Solo and YOU & ME, Rosé showcased her vocal prowess with Gone and On The Ground, Jisoo captivated with All Eyes On ME and FLOWER, and Lisa energized the crowd with her dynamic rapping in MONEY.
The group then performed Kill This Love, leading into crowd-pleasers Lovesick Girls and PLAYING WITH FIRE. A live band played alongside them for a theatrical rendition of Typa Girl, earning roaring applause from the audience.
As the night ended, BLACKPINK performed Don’t Know What To Do, with Rosé thanking fans for the huge turnout. Jennie reflected on the journey, thanking everyone for their hard work and dedication.
The finale featured a performance of AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST, followed by heartfelt thanks to their fans, dancers, and crew for making the BORN PINK tour a resounding success.
A year of memories
After launching their world tour last October at Seoul’s KSPO Dome, BLACKPINK completed 66 concerts across 34 cities, drawing an estimated 1.8 million fans globally.
The finale marks a bittersweet experience for the group’s legion of BLINKS. This could very well be the last time BLACKPINK performed together as a group. Uncertainties over the group’s contract negotiations have made headlines all over the world. YG Entertainment’s stock price plunged nearly 9% on news that Lisa, may not renew her contract with the company. The drop was the largest single-day decline for YG Entertainment in a year.
That being said … Whatever the future holds, Congratulations to Rosé, Jennie, Lisa and Jisoo for the extraordinary Born Pink World Tour!
