BTS’ V hits Billboard Hot 100 again with Slow Dancing

BTS’s V grabs headlines again with his solo hit Slow Dancing. The song, part of his debut solo album Layover, has leapt to the 51st spot on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, as confirmed by Billboard’s official social media on Sept 18, 2023. Released just ten days prior, the song has already garnered significant attention both in the U.S. and globally.

Charting success

As a member of the chart-dominating group BTS, V is no stranger to the Billboard Hot 100. With Slow Dancing, he marks his third solo venture onto the chart … Surpassing his previous high of 79th place with the track Christmas Tree from the SBS TV drama Our Beloved Summer.

Another Layover track, Love Me Again, had also made its way onto the Hot 100, debuting at the 96th position last month.

The acclaim for Slow Dancing extends beyond American borders. The song has clinched the 4th spot on the Global 200 chart and an even more laudable 3rd place on the Global chart, which excludes U.S. metrics.

What makes Slow Dancing particularly captivating is its unconventional musical arrangement. Initially slated to be a piano-centric track, the final version features a flute that has resonated deeply with listeners. This unique choice has also helped the song debut at the 24th position on the UK Official Singles Chart for the week of Sept 15 to 21.

Complementing the single’s triumph, V’s debut album Layover has also made a remarkable entry, securing the 2nd spot on this week’s Billboard Main Album Chart, Billboard 200. The album owes its finesse to the adept production skills of Min Hee Jin, the current CEO of ADOR and the creative mastermind behind the popular girl group NEWJEANS.

We wish BTS’ V continued success on the Billboard Hot 100!
