Jeon Jong-Seo action-thriller Ballerina to hit Netflix on Oct 6

Prepare to plunge into a world where vengeance knows no bounds, and emotions run as raw, in the upcoming action-thriller Ballerina. The film, described as “a visual masterpiece”, stars Jeon Jong-Seo as former bodyguard Okju, who begins a quest for revenge following the death of her ballerina friend Minhee.

This gripping narrative, at the hands of visionary director Lee Chung-hyun, promises to redefine the action revenge drama genre. Jeon Jong-Seo, previously seen in The Call and Money Heist: Korea Joint Economic Area, showcases her physical talents in this demanding role.

Joining her is her Money Heist: Korea Joint Economic Area co-star Kim Ji-Hoon, who plays Okju’s target. His portrayal of the charismatic and sadistic Choi Pro is sure to send chills down your spine. The film also stars Park Yoo-Rim as the graceful and delicate Minhee, whose death ignites the fury within Okju.

As the narrative unfolds, Okju discovers a letter from Minhee – a desperate plea for vengeance. Her mission leads her to confrontations with adversaries like Choi. With each encounter, the stakes soar, and the suspense thickens.

The film’s main poster provides a glimpse of its unique aesthetic, with a neon color palette. It showcases an armed Okju, dressed in Minhee’s ballet attire, with an unwavering gaze. The tagline, “Merciless and Ruthless, To Hell,” sets the stage for an epic tale of revenge.

Ballerina will also have its world premiere at the 2023 Busan International Film Festival. The film will premiere during the Korean Cinema Today – Special Premiere section on Oct 5.
