New BLACKPINK rumor: Jennie & Jisoo to launch own agencies?

A new report is claiming that BLACKPINK members Jennie and Jisoo are planning to leave YG Entertainment to start their own individual agencies. This is the latest development in the ongoing BLACKPINK contract renewal saga.

According to an exclusive report published today by Korean media outlet News1, both members have been “laying the groundwork” for their respective solo endeavors. The report claims Jennie and Jisoo intend to manage themselves.

Several reports last week claimed Lisa had already signed up to another agency to manage her own solo activities. One report claimed that the three members are negotiating ‘part-time’ contracts that will let them spend “six months of the year working as part of BLACKPINK”.

YG Entertainment’s response

Addressing the swirling rumors surrounding Jennie and Jisoo’s supposed solo ventures, YG Entertainment issued a statement in response. The company made it clear that there is still “no official confirmation” regarding the contract renewal or future group activities for BLACKPINK.

As of now, Rosé is the sole BLACKPINK member to officially confirm the renewal of her contract with YG Entertainment.

Mixed reactions from netizens and fans

Unsurprisingly, news of Jennie and Jisoo becoming independent has sparked a whirlwind of reactions among netizens and fans alike. While some expressed their shock, an overwhelming majority of supporters offered their congratulations. Most fans appear to support the idea of the two idols taking more control of their careers.

Lisa’s cryptic Instagram post

In a separate development, BLACKPINK’s Lisa added to the intrigue surrounding the group’s future with her latest Instagram post. The star shared a series of stunning new photos, accompanied by a cryptic caption that read: “You’re not invited.” Korean media has wondering if this message hints at Lisa’s ongoing contract negotiations with YG Entertainment.

As the K-pop world eagerly awaits further updates, fans and industry insiders will undoubtedly continue to monitor the unfolding developments within the BLACKPINK camp.
