SM Entertainment, a leading South Korean music company, recently teamed up with British entertainment agency MOON&BACK. This partnership aims to create a new UK-based boy group. The companies announced this collaboration through a press release, involving key figures from both sides.
From SM Entertainment, the team includes CEO Jang Cheol-Hyuk, Chief Business Officer Jang Yoon-Joong, Chief A&R Officer Lee Seong-Soo, and Creative Director Kangta. MOON&BACK’s signing ceremony featured Nigel Hall, Russ Lindsay, Dawn Airey, and Ben Karter.
The collaboration aims to launch a UK boy group with global impact. Nigel Hall from MOON&BACK, known for his work on The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, brings his expertise. MOON&BACK will handle member selection for the group. SM Entertainment will provide K-Pop production expertise, including music, videos, and choreography. The group’s debut music will be under Kreation Music Rights, an SM subsidiary.
MOON&BACK also plans to broadcast a six-episode series. It will document the boy group’s formation and debut. The series, starting in late 2024, will give insights into the group’s journey. Audiences in Korea, Britain, and the United States can expect a unique look into this new musical endeavour.
