BTS’ RM, Jimin, Jungkook and V prepare for military enlistment

K-pop supergroup BTS is entering a new chapter as members RM, Jimin, Jungkook and V have officially begun their military enlistment process. This significant step was announced by Big Hit Music, marking a pivotal moment for the group and their fans worldwide.

The journey to enlistment

The initiation of the military enlistment process for these four BTS members signifies the end of their postponement of this mandatory duty. Previously, BTS members Jin and J-Hope have already enlisted, with Jin serving in active duty and J-Hope following suit. Fellow member Suga was assigned as a social worker for his service last September.

BTS’s continued legacy

Despite their temporary hiatus for military service, BTS’ impact on the global music scene remains undiminished. The group, which debuted in 2013, has captivated millions with their music and message. They have also become a symbol of Korean cultural influence worldwide.

Their journey over the past decade will be showcased in the upcoming docuseries BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star. The highly-anticipated series is set to premiere on December 20, 2023 on Disney+. This eight-part series promises to offer fans a nostalgic and intimate look at BTS’s rise to global stardom.

Jimin also released his first solo album FACE on March 24, with hit single Like Crazy reaching #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

In September V, also known as Kim Taehyung, dropped his album Layover. The R&B-jazz album was a huge success, with singles Rainy Days, Love Me Again and Slow Dancing tearing up streaming charts worldwide.

Jungkook released his first solo album Golden on November 3. The album included previous releases like Seven featuring Latto and 3D featuring Jack Harlow. Jungkook also held his first solo concert in Seoul, Golden Live on Stage, on November 20, which was live-streamed globally.
