The world of K-pop is witnessing a significant moment as BTS members prepare for their military enlistment, a development that has garnered widespread attention and support from their global fanbase. Korean media outlet Dispatch has released a report on their enlistment plans, which are listed below:
BTS’s enlistment schedule
V and RM’s Enlistment: V is scheduled to begin his military service at the Nonsan Training Center on December 11. He has applied to join the Special Mission Unit of the Army Capital Defense Command. RM will also enlist on the same day at Nonsan, with plans to join his unit after completing basic training.
Jimin and Jungkook’s Joint Enlistment: Both Jimin and Jungkook will enlist together on December 12, heading to the Army 5th Infantry Division Recruit Training Center. This location is significant as Jin, already in service, is serving as an assistant instructor there. An unconfirmed report by Dispatch claims that Jimin and Jungkook will be training under Jin.
Current BTS members in service
With RM, V, Jimin and Jungkook enlisting, all seven members of BTS will now be undergoing their military service. Here is the current status of the three members of the group who enlisted over the past year:
Jin’s Role: Jin, who enlisted last December, is actively serving as an assistant instructor.
J-Hope’s Contribution: J-Hope, having enlisted in April, is serving as an instructor at the White Tiger Recruit Battalion.
Suga’s Service: Suga began his military service in September and is currently serving as a social worker. He has been assigned a non-combat role due to a surgery he went through in 2020.
BigHit Music’s response to Dispatch reports
BigHit Music has not officially commented on the Dispatch report detailing the enlistment plans. The company’s only response to media enquiries has been: “It is difficult to confirm the details mentioned in the report.”
However, the agency has consistently maintained that BTS members will fulfill their military service obligations as required by South Korean law.
Anticipated reunion in 2025
Fans worldwide are eagerly awaiting the full reunion of BTS. It is expected to occur sometime after June 2025, following the completion of all members’ military services. The exact timing of this reunion is yet to be determined, but the excitement is palpable among the ARMY.
