Controversial YouTuber Sojang has taken a significant step in her legal fight against IVE’s Jang Wonyoung, filing a desperate plea in the ongoing trial.
Sojang Files Injunction Against Court Ruling
On January 24, reports emerged that Sojang filed an injunction against the court’s decision, which previously ruled in favour of Jang Wonyoung. The court had ordered Sojang to pay KRW 100 million (about USD 74,700) in compensation to the IVE member.
Sojang’s Attempt to Halt Court’s Decision
Sojang’s recent move to file an injunction on January 23 aims to stop the execution of the court’s ruling. This action indicates her intention to contest the decision. If a defendant appeals within two weeks, the court’s ruling is not executed. However, provisional execution can still occur if deemed necessary by the court. Sojang’s injunction is seen as an effort to prevent this.
Jang Wonyoung’s Victory and Global Praise
Jang Wonyoung has received global acclaim from K-pop fans following her victory in the landmark case against Sojang. The court’s decision favouring the idol was a significant win against Sojang, a figure notorious for creating defamatory content and spreading misinformation about K-pop idols.
