Beauty Review: Innisfree Light Fitting Foundation

When it comes to foundations, perfect coverage is key. I have been looking to update my beauty routine for the new year, and have been searching for the perfect foundation that feels a little lighter on my skin, while offering the same full coverage that I am used to.

So, when the opportunity rose to try out the highly-recommended Innisfree Light Fitting Foundation SPF20 PA++ (30ml) , I decided to give it a shot.

One of the biggest beauty trends of recent years has been the “glass skin effect”, popularized by the flawless, translucent complexions of some of the biggest K-entertainment stars. So I was certainly looking forward to seeing what Innisfree could do to get me one step closer to achieving that camera-ready look!

Right from the start, I loved the simple design of the foundation itself. Besides being aesthetically-pleasing with its beige cap and frosted glass bottle, its size was just perfect to slip into my makeup travel kit, or in my purse for quick touch-ups on-the-go.

Formula and texture

According to Innisfree, this hypoallergenic and vegan foundation promises a smooth, silky finish. The formula also has SPF20 PA++, which offers minor protection from UV rays.

When I tried it for the first time, I was surprised by how watery the foundation looked and felt. I wondered if this meant that I would have to use more of the product on my face. Only a small amount was needed to achieve maximum coverage on my skin.

Shade and finish

The shade I chose was 23N Ginger, which I felt was the closest to my natural skin tone, and the best for warm, medium complexions. Upon first application, it appeared to be a shade lighter than my natural skin tone, which had me a little worried.

However, it blended in perfectly after several dabs with my damp makeup sponge. The formula is designed to be buildable, so apply with a light hand until you get the coverage that you need.

After blending, the Innisfree Light Fitting Foundation has a soft, near-matte finish. I found it produced the same effect when it was applied on both dry skin, as well as after a makeup primer.

Daily wear

I tried this foundation over several weeks, and I have to say it became one of my favorite makeup products. I found it lasted all day, and best of all, the formula gave my skin a noticeable glow, which I definitely appreciated.

Of course, it’s not completely perfect. While the foundation does give a good amount of coverage, you will still need to apply concealer to any blemishes. And if you are outdoors for prolonged periods or find yourself sweating a lot, you can expect some caking. However, some minor touch ups should put things right.

Price

At RM120 (US$25.40), the foundation is somewhat on the pricier side. However, considering its effects, I would say it is worth it. If you want to imitate the dewy complexions seen on many K-entertainment idols, this product will certainly do the job.

Overall, the foundation holds up well in terms of regular daily use. It’s easy to see why so many people love this range. Count me in as one of its newest fans!
