Police have confirmed that BTS member Suga will face criminal charges for driving an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol.
The Seoul Yongsan Police Station has confirmed that the electric scooter Suga was operating does not fall under the classification of a personal mobility device, subjecting him to the same legal penalties as driving a car while intoxicated.
According to South Korean law, operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or higher is punishable by a fine of up to 10 million KRW or a prison sentence of up to two years.
The Korean Military Manpower Association previously confirmed that Suga would not receive additional punishment from the military.
