‘Suga, Leave BTS’ protest wreaths sent to HYBE Headquarters

A controversial protest demanding BTS member Suga’s departure from the group has sparked heated debate among fans. Wreaths, a symbol of mourning in Korean culture, were sent to HYBE headquarters on August 13th with messages calling for Suga to leave.

The BTS member Suga has found himself at the centre of a major controversy following a DUI incident on August 6, 2024.

Fan Outrage vs. Anti-Fan Activity

While the specific reasons behind the protest remain unclear, it’s received significant backlash from a large portion of the BTS fanbase, known as ARMY. Many fans suspect this is the work of anti-fans attempting to sow discord within the group.

HYBE has not yet issued a statement regarding the protest. However, many ARMY members have taken to social media to express their support for Suga and their disapproval of the protest itself.

This incident highlights the challenges K-Pop idols face from online negativity. Some fans are using the hashtag #WeLoveYouSuga to demonstrate their unwavering support for the rapper and encourage unity within the fandom.
