BTS’ V and Jungkook hit YouTuber with defamation lawsuit
The legal battle between BTS members V and Jungkook and YouTuber Sojang takes a new turn. The lawsuit, seeking 90 million won (around US$67,000) in damages for defamation, is scheduled for its first trial on August 23rd at the Seoul Western District Court’s Civil Division 12.
V and Jungkook, along with their agency BIGHIT MUSIC, initially filed a complaint against Sojang in March 2023. The lawsuit alleges that Sojang spread malicious rumors and false information about the BTS members, damaging their reputation.
Sojang’s YouTube channel has a history of publishing negative content about K-Pop idols and celebrities. V and Jungkook aren’t the first idols to take legal action against Sojang. Other artists, like IVE’s Jang Wonyoung and actor Kang Daniel, have also sued the YouTuber.

AESPA’s hit song Armageddon has officially surpassed a staggering 100 million streams on Spotify! This impressive milestone marks another achievement for the talented girl group and their ever-growing global fanbase.
This achievement adds to AESPA’s growing list of accomplishments. Not only is Armageddon a fan favorite, but their lead track Supernova from the same album also crossed the 100 million stream mark earlier this year.
