While five members originally formed BIGBANG in 2006, the anniversary saw only G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung taking to social media to acknowledge the occasion.
G-Dragon shared a simple yet impactful post on his Instagram story, tagging his fellow members and featuring the cover of their 2022 digital single, Still Life, with the caption #bigbang18thanniversary.
Taeyang joined the commemoration with a yellow heart accompanying his #18thanniversary post.
Daesung, the ever-grateful member, expressed his heartfelt thanks to fans (affectionately known as VIPs) on his website. “Thank you for standing by us for 18 years!” he wrote.
“I may not always express it well, but I’m always grateful in my heart. I’ll continue to work hard so I can keep singing for a long time! Thank you once again! Let’s keep pushing forward this year and beyond!”
T.O.P Blocks G-Dragon and Taeyang on Instagram After 18th Anniversary Posts
Meanwhile, Sports Chosun reported former BIGBANG member T.O.P, who officially left the group in May 2023, has blocked his former group mates, G-Dragon and Taeyang, on Instagram.
This action comes on the heels of the 18th anniversary, where G-Dragon and Taeyang acknowledged the occasion on social media.
Adding fuel to the speculation, T.O.P also reportedly blocked fans who tagged him in celebratory posts for the anniversary. This behaviour seemingly indicates a desire to distance himself from the BIGBANG legacy and his former bandmates.
