Members of K-pop group NEWJEANS have expressed their frustration following the recent dismissal of Min Hee-Jin as CEO of their label, ADOR. The change in leadership has left the group in a state of anxiety and concern, highlighting the turmoil within the label.
NEWJEANS Members Speak Out on Phoning
Six days after Min Hee-Jin’s dismissal, NEWJEANS members broke their silence through Phoning, a fan-dedicated app. Danielle shared her emotional turmoil, describing feelings of anxiety and a mental breakdown.
“Since the CEO was dismissed, it’s been difficult in many ways and we have a lot of concerns. For a while, I was in a state of mental breakdown and very anxious,” Danielle was quoted on the app.
Fellow member Minji echoed these sentiments, expressing frustration over the ongoing situation and her inability to resolve the issues. “I feel so sorry that we have to go through this unnecessary trouble, and I felt so frustrated that I couldn’t solve anything,” she said.
The Ongoing Conflict Between Min Hee-Jin and HYBE
The conflict between Min Hee-Jin and HYBE, ADOR’s parent company, has been brewing since April 2024, when HYBE accused Min of attempting to seize control of the label. Although Min has denied these allegations, her refusal to sign a work contract under “toxic clauses” further complicates the situation.
The leadership change at ADOR and the ongoing dispute have raised concerns about NEWJEANS’ future.
