Labour Ministry to Probe HYBE and ADOR Over NEWJEANS Allegations

The ongoing dispute between K-pop group NEWJEANS and their agency, HYBE, has taken a dramatic turn. NEWJEANS’ recent livestream, where they accused HYBE of mistreatment and demanded the reinstatement of their former CEO, Min Hee-Jin, has ignited a firestorm of controversy.

A Wave of Complaints

Following the livestream, fans of NEWJEANS filed numerous complaints with the Ministry of Employment and Labour, accusing HYBE of violating labour laws in its treatment of the group. The ministry has officially launched an investigation into the matter.

NEWJEANS’ Accusations

The group’s allegations against HYBE are severe. They claim mistreatment, lack of respect, and interference in their creative freedom. Hanni, a member of NEWJEANS, even revealed that a HYBE manager had instructed another group to ignore her.

HYBE’s Response

HYBE has denied all allegations and claimed that the decision to remove Min Hee-Jin was made independently by ADOR’s board of directors. The company has also accused Min of attempting to take control of ADOR and NEWJEANS.

It is regretful that Min Hee Jin, who has advocated for independence from HYBE, is not following the orders of ADOR’s own board of directors. — HYBE

Public Outrage

The controversy has sparked widespread outrage among fans and the public. Many have criticized HYBE for its alleged mistreatment of NEWJEANS and its attempts to manipulate the situation.

If HYBE is found guilty of labour law violations, it could face severe consequences.
