Tensions between HYBE, ADOR, and NEWJEANS continue to rise as the situation escalates. An upcoming National Assembly audit could further complicate things for the powerful K-pop label. Allegations of mistreatment toward NEWJEANS’ Hanni and Min Hee-Jin’s legal battle for her reappointment as ADOR CEO take centre stage.
National Assembly Audit: Hanni Called as Witness
According to the Korea Herald, the National Assembly will hold an audit on October 25. NEWJEANS’ Hanni has been invited to appear as a witness after claiming mistreatment in a live broadcast on September 11. She alleged that a HYBE manager instructed another group to ignore her when she greeted them at HYBE’s Seoul headquarters.
This incident sparked outrage among fans, who filed complaints with the Ministry of Employment and Labor. They called for an investigation into HYBE’s treatment of NewJeans members.
While Hanni can choose not to attend if she submits a valid written statement, ADOR CEO Kim Ju-Young does not have that option. Kim must appear or face legal consequences. HYBE confirmed that Kim would attend if the National Assembly sent an official notice.
Min Hee-Jin’s Fight for ADOR CEO Position
Former ADOR CEO Min Hee-Jin is preparing for her legal battle to regain her CEO position. Her injunction hearing is scheduled for October 11.
Min claims her dismissal violated both a previous court ruling and a shareholder agreement with HYBE. Despite her removal as CEO, ADOR stated that Min would stay on as an inside director, responsible for producing NEWJEANS. However, she argues that this decision is unfair.
Min’s dismissal added fuel to the fire, creating more friction within HYBE. Her lawsuit, combined with the audit, could reshape HYBE’s management structure and impact its growing influence in the K-pop industry.
