RIIZE Suffers Social Media Exodus After Seunghan’s Exit

K-Pop boy band RIIZE is navigating a turbulent period after member Seunghan’s second withdrawal from the group within 10 months. This latest departure has triggered a significant backlash from fans, dramatically dropping their social media following.

A Confusing Situation

Seunghan’s return to RIIZE in early October was met with mixed reactions from fans. Many expressed joy at his return, while others remained apprehensive due to past controversies surrounding the idol.

Just two days after the announcement of Seunghan’s re-inclusion, the group confirmed his permanent departure. This confusing turn of events has frustrated RIIZE’s fanbase, known as Briize.

Social Media Bloodbath

The impact of fan discontent is evident on RIIZE’s social media platforms. Within 14 hours of Seunghan’s withdrawal, the group reportedly lost nearly 40,500 followers on X (formerly known as Twitter). Their Instagram and TikTok accounts also significantly dropped, with follower counts falling by an estimated 78,850 and 47,648 respectively.

The #BringBackSeunghan Movement

Fueled by their disappointment, Briize has initiated a mass unfollowing campaign across RIIZE’s social media channels. Additionally, the hashtag #BringBackSeunghan has gained significant traction online, reflecting their desire for Seunghan’s reinstatement.

The discontent extends beyond social media. Fans have also expressed their intentions to boycott future RIIZE activities, including album purchases and concert attendance.

This organized resistance poses a significant challenge for the group’s future success.
